eng.hydraulic-pump Calculator
Calculates hydraulic pump power, flow rate, and efficiency from pump head, flow rate, and fluid density. Pump hydraulic power = ρgQH — the shaft power is higher by the inverse of hydraulic efficiency, typically 0.7–0.85.
Inputs
Q Lpm
Volume of fluid per unit time. Used to size pipes, pumps, and ducts.
P Bar
Force per unit area (Pa). Atmospheric pressure at sea level: 101,325 Pa. Check whether gauge or absolute pressure is required.
Eta
Useful output divided by total input, as a percentage. 100% is impossible due to losses (heat, friction, resistance).
Results
hydraulic power
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
shaft power
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
flow rate
The value at the specified point or condition.
torque at 1500RPM
Rotational force (N·m) = force × perpendicular lever arm. High torque at low RPM is ideal for hauling; high RPM suits high-speed applications.
