eng.pipe-flow Calculator
Calculates pipe flow velocity, flow rate, and Reynolds number from pipe diameter and fluid properties using the Hagen-Poiseuille or Darcy-Weisbach equation. Transitional flow occurs at Reynolds numbers between 2,300 and 4,000 — turbulent flow above 4,000 requires the Moody friction factor.
Inputs
D
Internal diameter of the pipe. Larger diameter reduces velocity and pressure drop but increases material cost.
S
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
C
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
Results
velocity
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
flow rate
The value at the specified point or condition.
head loss/100m
The decrease or degradation from the baseline.
status
Current state of the system, process, or metric — typically pass/fail, healthy/warning/critical, or a descriptive classification.
