Calculates Distributions to Paid-In capital (DPI) for a business finance fund or investment — the ratio of cash returned to cash invested. DPI is the only return measure that uses real cash — TVPI includes unrealised value, but DPI > 1.0 is the proof that capital was actually returned.

DPI (distributions to paid-in) -- the realised return multiple: total cash distributed to investors divided by total capital invested.
RVPI
RVPI (residual value to paid-in) -- the unrealised value of remaining portfolio investments as a multiple of invested capital. RVPI + DPI = TVPI.
TVPI
TVPI (total value to paid-in) -- total value multiple = DPI + RVPI. Measures the overall multiple on invested capital (realised + unrealised).
