food.titratable-acidity-wine Calculator
Calculates titratable acidity (TA) in wine or must from the volume of NaOH used in a titration, expressed as g/L tartaric acid equivalent. TA between 5.5–8.5 g/L is the standard range for balanced wine; below 5 tastes flat, above 9 is aggressively tart.
Inputs
Titrant Volume Ml
Three-dimensional space occupied (m³ or L). 1 m³ = 1,000 L.
Titrant Normality
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
Sample Volume Ml
Three-dimensional space occupied (m³ or L). 1 m³ = 1,000 L.
Results
titratable acidity (g/L as tartaric)
The value at the specified point or condition.
milliequivalents acid
Sample size or count used in the calculation.
typical table wine TA
Sample size or count used in the calculation.
high acid wine (e.g. Riesling)
Sample size or count used in the calculation.
low acid wine
Sample size or count used in the calculation.
pH vs TA
pH of the solution. Below 7: acidic. 7: neutral. Above 7: basic (alkaline).
