Calculates resting energy requirement (RER) and maintenance energy requirement (MER) for dogs and cats from metabolic body weight and life stage. WSAVA guidelines recommend RER = 70 × BW(kg)⁰·⁷⁵ as the starting point for all pet caloric prescriptions.
