health.sprint-power-horizontal Calculator
Calculates horizontal force, mechanical effectiveness, and maximal anaerobic power from sprint timing splits using the Morin-Samozino method. Horizontal force production (not vertical) correlates most strongly with sprint acceleration — the basis for resisted sprint training.
Inputs
Body Mass Kg
Total mass of the body. Used with height to calculate BMI and estimate lean mass.
Velocity M S
Speed in a specified direction (m/s). Required for momentum, kinetic energy, and wave calculations.
Step Frequency Hz
Cycles per second (Hz). Audible sound: 20 Hz – 20 kHz. Make sure units match what the formula expects.
Contact Time Ms
Duration of the process. Make sure units match the rate inputs (seconds, minutes, or hours).
Results
horizontal power (W)
Sample size or count used in the calculation.
step length (m)
The computed linear length.
average horizontal force (N)
The arithmetic mean -- sum divided by count.
force per body weight
The computed weight (gravitational force) or mass.
Weyand mechanical power
Sample size or count used in the calculation.
elite 100m
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
