health.waist-hip Calculator
Calculates waist-to-hip ratio with WHO risk classification and also computes waist-to-height ratio (target <0.5 for all adults). Waist-to-height ratio below 0.5 is a simple 'keep your waist to less than half your height' rule that predicts cardiometabolic risk across all ethnicities.
Inputs
Waist
Waist circumference. Elevated waist circumference is a risk factor for metabolic disease independent of total weight.
Hip
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
Ht
Vertical measurement. For health calculators, typically standing height without shoes.
Sex
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
Results
waist-to-hip ratio
Waist / hip circumference. Central obesity risk: men above 0.90, women above 0.85. High WHR is associated with diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
cardiovascular risk
Overall risk level based on the computed score or classification. Higher risk may call for mitigating actions or additional review.
waist-to-height ratio
The computed height.
waist-height risk
The computed height.
men: high risk >1.0
Overall risk level based on the computed score or classification. Higher risk may call for mitigating actions or additional review.
healthy WHtR target
Overall health score or status — a composite measure of how well the system, asset, or metric is performing.
