photo.resolution Calculator
Calculates maximum sharp print size at given DPI from a camera's megapixel count, and shows the pixel dimensions at different print resolutions. A 24 MP sensor produces a sharp 16×24 inch print at 200 PPI — most prints look good from viewing distance at that resolution.
Inputs
Width
Horizontal extent perpendicular to the length.
Height
Vertical measurement. For health calculators, typically standing height without shoes.
Dpi
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
Bit Depth
Vertical extent downward, or thickness of a layer. For tanks: affects pressure at the base (P = ρgh).
Results
megapixels
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
print size (cm)
Sample size or count used in the calculation.
print size (inches)
Sample size or count used in the calculation.
uncompressed file (MB)
Size or value after compression is applied.
ppi for quality print
A qualitative assessment of how the result compares to the desired standard or benchmark.
