Calculates Alfvén wave speed v_A = B/√(μ₀ρ) in a magnetised plasma, the velocity at which magnetic field disturbances propagate along field lines. Solar wind Alfvén speed ≈ 50 km/s — magnetic reconnection and coronal heating are driven by plasma flows exceeding the Alfvén speed.
