sci.creep-Larson-Miller Calculator
Calculates the Larson-Miller parameter LMP = T(log t_r + C) × 10⁻³ for creep life prediction and extrapolates to different stress/temperature combinations. LMP is a time-temperature parameter — a component designed for 100,000 hours at 600 °C can be tested at 700 °C for ~300 hours to obtain equivalent LMP.
Inputs
T K
Thermal state of the substance. Check whether the formula needs Celsius, Fahrenheit, or Kelvin (K = °C + 273.15).
T Rupture H
Duration of the process. Make sure units match the rate inputs (seconds, minutes, or hours).
C Lm
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
Sigma Mpa
Internal force per unit area (Pa or MPa). Must stay below yield strength in service.
Results
Larson-Miller parameter P (K)
Sample size or count used in the calculation.
P = T·(log₁₀ tr + C)
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
estimated rupture life (h)
The value at the specified point or condition.
operating temperature T
A standardised quality or risk rating on the applicable scale.
constant C
Sample size or count used in the calculation.
creep regime
The operating regime — the mode or zone in which the system is currently operating.
