sci.crop-evapotranspiration Calculator
Calculates actual crop evapotranspiration ET_c = Kc × ET₀ from reference ET₀ and crop coefficient Kc, which varies by growth stage. Kc for maize peaks at 1.15–1.20 during mid-season — soil evaporation (Ke) supplements basal crop coefficient (Kcb) in the FAO-56 dual coefficient approach.
Inputs
Eto Mm Day
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
Kc
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
Area Ha
Two-dimensional surface extent (m²). For complex shapes, break into simpler sub-shapes and sum.
Irrigation Efficiency Pct
Useful output divided by total input, as a percentage. 100% is impossible due to losses (heat, friction, resistance).
Results
crop ET (ETc) (mm/day)
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
net water requirement (m³/day)
The value at the specified point or condition.
gross irrigation needed (m³/day)
IRR (internal rate of return) -- the annualised return rate at which net present value equals zero. If IRR exceeds the hurdle rate, the investment adds value.
ETc = Kc × ET₀
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
Kc reference values
The computed numeric or monetary value.
annual water productivity
The result of multiplying all input values together.
