sci.CT-dose-index-CTDIvol Calculator
Calculates CTDIvol = CTDIw/pitch and dose-length product DLP = CTDIvol × scan length for CT dose estimation. DLP is used to estimate effective dose: E ≈ DLP × k, where k ≈ 0.014 mSv/(mGy·cm) for chest — total body CT DLP should be minimised by appropriate scan range selection.
Inputs
Ctdiw Mgy
Body or object weight. For health calculators, usually in kg or lbs.
Pitch
A multiplier applied in the calculation.
N Slices
Count of items or occurrences.
T Mm
Perpendicular measurement through the material. For insulation: thicker is better. For beams: directly affects bending resistance.
Results
CTDIvol (mGy)
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
beam collimation N×T (mm)
The value at the specified point or condition.
DLP = CTDIvol × scan_length (mGy·cm)
The computed linear length.
CTDIvol = CTDIw / pitch
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
DRLs (diagnostic reference levels)
The measured or computed level on the applicable scale.
pitch effect
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
