sci.DO-reaeration Calculator
Calculates dissolved oxygen reaeration rate from reaeration constant k₂ and oxygen deficit, and predicts DO at any point downstream. Reaeration constant k₂ ranges from 0.05 d⁻¹ (large lakes) to 100 d⁻¹ (rapids) — the O'Connor-Dobbins formula estimates k₂ from stream velocity and depth.
Inputs
Do Sat Mg L
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
Do Actual Mg L
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
K2 Per Day
Amount per unit of time or per unit quantity. Check the denominator before interpreting.
Kd Per Day
Amount per unit of time or per unit quantity. Check the denominator before interpreting.
Bod Mg L
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
Results
initial oxygen deficit D₀ (mg/L)
Sample size or count used in the calculation.
critical time t_c (days)
The computed duration or time value.
critical deficit D_c (mg/L)
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
minimum DO (mg/L)
The smallest value in the dataset or feasible range.
