sci.heat-exchanger-lmtd Calculator
Calculates the Log Mean Temperature Difference for heat exchanger design: LMTD = (ΔT₁ − ΔT₂)/ln(ΔT₁/ΔT₂). Counter-flow heat exchangers have larger LMTD than parallel-flow — a counter-flow exchanger can in principle heat the cold stream to within 1 °C of the hot inlet temperature.

ΔT₁ (hot in - cold out)
Sample size or count used in the calculation.
ΔT₂ (hot out - cold in)
Sample size or count used in the calculation.
Q = UA × LMTD

counter-current arrangement
Electric charge flow rate (A). Governs wire sizing — too much current causes dangerous heating. Fuses protect circuits from overcurrent.
