sci.linkage-disequilibrium-D Calculator
Calculates linkage disequilibrium coefficient D = p_AB − p_A×p_B and normalised D' and r² between two biallelic loci. r² > 0.8 indicates strong linkage disequilibrium — in GWAS, SNPs in high-LD with a causal variant are detected even without genotyping the causal variant directly.
Inputs
P A Freq
Cycles per second (Hz). Audible sound: 20 Hz – 20 kHz. Make sure units match what the formula expects.
P B Freq
Cycles per second (Hz). Audible sound: 20 Hz – 20 kHz. Make sure units match what the formula expects.
P Ab Haplotype
Cycles per second (Hz). Audible sound: 20 Hz – 20 kHz. Make sure units match what the formula expects.
Results
linkage disequilibrium D
Sample size or count used in the calculation.
D\
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
r² (correlation measure)
The strength and direction of the linear relationship between the two variables (-1 to +1).
D = p_AB - p_A·p_B
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
LD interpretation
Qualitative summary of what the computed numbers mean in practical terms.
