sci.nerve-conduction-velocity Calculator
Calculates nerve conduction velocity from electrode spacing and latency measurements: NCV = distance/Δlatency. Normal median nerve NCV > 50 m/s — values below 40 m/s suggest demyelination such as carpal tunnel syndrome; axonal neuropathies reduce amplitude without slowing NCV.
Inputs
Distance Cm
Separation between two points or total path length. Check that units are consistent throughout the calculation.
Distal Latency Ms
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
Proximal Latency Ms
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
Results
nerve conduction velocity (m/s)
Sample size or count used in the calculation.
conduction time (ms)
The computed duration or time value.
NCV classification
Category assigned based on where the computed value falls on a defined scale. Check which standard or guideline defines these boundaries.
