sci.ore-grade-metal-content Calculator
Calculates metal content in ore from assay grades and tonnage: contained metal = tonnage × grade / 1,000, and calculates head grade from multiple grade × tonnage products. JORC and NI 43-101 require competent persons to verify ore grade estimates — geostatistical kriging is the standard method.
Inputs
Ore Tonnes
Total mass (kg). Distinct from weight — weight = mass × gravity. Mass is constant; weight varies with location.
Grade G T
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
Recovery Pct
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
Metal Price Usd Oz
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
Results
contained metal (g)
Sample size or count used in the calculation.
recovered metal after processing (g)
Sample size or count used in the calculation.
recovered metal (troy oz)
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
gross metal value (USD)
The computed numeric or monetary value.
grade × ore = contained; × recovery = recoverable
Letter or numerical grade indicating quality, creditworthiness, or performance on a defined scale.
cut-off grade guideline
Letter or numerical grade indicating quality, creditworthiness, or performance on a defined scale.
