sci.psychrometric-wet-bulb-adiabatic Calculator
Calculates adiabatic wet-bulb temperature using iterative solution of the energy balance between evaporation cooling and sensible heat gain. Adiabatic wet-bulb temperature is used in cooling tower and spray dryer calculations — it is essentially the same as thermodynamic wet-bulb in practice.
Inputs
T Dry C
Thermal state of the substance. Check whether the formula needs Celsius, Fahrenheit, or Kelvin (K = °C + 273.15).
T Wet C
Thermal state of the substance. Check whether the formula needs Celsius, Fahrenheit, or Kelvin (K = °C + 273.15).
P Kpa
Force per unit area (Pa). Atmospheric pressure at sea level: 101,325 Pa. Check whether gauge or absolute pressure is required.
Results
humidity ratio W (kg/kg)
The proportional relationship between two quantities.
relative humidity RH (%)
The value at the specified point or condition.
specific enthalpy h (kJ/kg)
Sample size or count used in the calculation.
saturation pressure at Twb (kPa)
How close the system is to its capacity limit. Above 80% sustained saturation typically leads to queuing and latency spikes.
W = W_wb − 0.00066(1+0.00115Twb)(Tdb−Twb)
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
