sci.qubit-error-rate Calculator
Calculates qubit error rate from gate fidelity, T1 (energy relaxation), and T2 (dephasing) times for superconducting qubits. Fault-tolerant quantum computing requires physical error rates below ~1% for surface code — current best superconducting qubits achieve ~0.1% two-qubit gate error rates.
Inputs
- Gate Error Rate Pct
- Amount per unit of time or per unit quantity. Check the denominator before interpreting.
- Qubit Count
- Count of items or occurrences.
- Circuit Depth
- Vertical extent downward, or thickness of a layer. For tanks: affects pressure at the base (P = ρgh).
- Readout Error Pct
- Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
Results
- circuit fidelity
- Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
- gate error probability
- The difference between the computed result and the exact or true value — a measure of approximation accuracy.
- readout fidelity
- Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
- gates per circuit
- The value at the specified point or condition.
- fault-tolerant threshold
- Sample size or count used in the calculation.
- IBM Eagle
- Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
