sci.reaction-rate Calculator
Calculates chemical reaction rate, rate constant, and half-life from the rate law and reactant concentrations for first and second order reactions. A first-order reaction with k = 0.693 min⁻¹ has a half-life of 1 minute — doubling reactant concentration doubles the rate for a first-order process.
Inputs
Rate Const
Amount per unit of time or per unit quantity. Check the denominator before interpreting.
Concentration
Amount of solute per unit volume. Higher concentration = more solute dissolved.
Order
Reference formula or conversion factor shown for context.
Temp
Thermal state of the substance. Check whether the formula needs Celsius, Fahrenheit, or Kelvin (K = °C + 273.15).
Results
reaction rate (mol/L/s)
The value at the specified point or condition.
half-life
Time for half the radioactive material to decay. After 10 half-lives, less than 0.1% of the original material remains.
rate = k[A]^n
The value at the specified point or condition.
rate constant k
The value at the specified point or condition.
concentration [A]
The proportional relationship between two quantities.
